Material Handling / Freight:

Material Handling or commonly known as drayage:

Drayage originally meant "to transport by a sideless cart". In the late 20th century United States, "drayage" has become a term to describe various logistical material handling services in the transportation industry.

Material handling or drayage service is used in the exhibition industry, where a number of exhibitors gather in an exhibition area to represent their products and services. JP Display offers Material Handling service managing the receipt of freight shipments and storing materials until the freight is later transported to each individual vendor’s exhibit space into the exhibition site. Convention centers and hotels do not have the facilities, equipment, or manpower to manage, receive and store exhibit freight. Thus, the show management and/or association has requested JP Display as their exhibition contractor to provide material handling service for entering and exiting of freight and products in the facility.

JP Display provides the following Material Handling service:

  1. Show specific shipping labels included in the Exhibitor Service Kit directing exhibit materials to JP Displays Advance to Warehouse or Direct to Show site.
  2. Storage of materials 30 days prior to the first exhibitor move-in date. (Extended storage can be offered at a nominal cost)
  3. Transportation to the exhibition site, unloading and delivery of the goods to your booth/stand space from the receiving dock.
  4. Storing of empty cartons/crates and extra products on or at a near-site warehouse.
  5. Instructions and outbound shipping documents for outbound shipping.
  6. Return of empty cartons/crates and extra products to your booth/stand space from on-site or near-site warehouse.
  7. Pickup of the goods from your booth/stand space to the receiving dock and loading back into outbound carrier.
  8. Completing outbound carrier's shipping documents.
